  • A copy of your credit agreement.

7. Do you authorise Switch2s’ authorised representative as your agent and as a representative, in terms of the Policyholder Protection Rules, to obtain this information and documentation from each of your lenders and credit life insurers for each of your credit life insurance policies?

  • The policy will pay a lump sum directly to the Credit Provider equal to the value of the outstanding debt in terms of a credit agreement in the event of the death of the assured life or their permanent disability;
  • The policy covers the full monthly instalment for a period of up to 6 months in the event of you suffering a loss of income through temporary disability, retrenchment or any other cause through no fault of your own;
  • The temporary disability cover will pay the full monthly instalment for a period of up to 12 monthly instalments if you are self-employed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE NOTE

  • Switch2, a Division of Clientèle Life Assurance Company Limited (“Switch2”), an Authorised Financial Services Provider and registered Insurer, FSP15268, is licensed to distribute credit life insurance products.
  • We will be contacting your lenders on your behalf to cancel your current insurance and replace it with our credit life insurance. In order to do so, you will need to appoint Switch2 as your agent for Credit Life Insurance products, with authority to investigate, quote, replace and cancel all related credit life policies in your name.
  • By agreeing to switch, you nominate each of your named credit providers as a “loss payee” in terms of your Switch2 policy, up to the settlement value on the happening of the insured event.
  • Please note that you authorise the insurer to make payment up to the settlement value to each credit provider on the happening of the insured event; and for the insurer to settle your obligations to each credit provider as a preferred creditor, at any time during the term of the credit agreement on the happening of the insured event.
  • You have the right to cancel this policy at any time by giving us 30 days’ notice and ensuring that an alternative policy is in place.
  • The Insurer for this policy is Clientèle Life Assurance Company Limited, an Authorised Financial Services Provider and registered Insurer, FSP15268.
  • Switch2 is a Division of Clientèle Life Assurance Company Limited, which is permitted to sell long-term insurance.

  • If you have any complaints, you can lodge a complaint at complaints@switch2.co.za. A copy of our Complaints Resolution Policy is available on request.
  • Should you not be satisfied with the manner your complaint has been dealt with, you can contact the FAIS Ombudsman, within 6 months of lodging the complaint, by phoning (012) 762 5000.

COVER EXCLUSIONS

  • This policy is only available to people who are earning an income.
  • If you are retrenched within 90 days of the commencement of the policy being replaced, you will not be covered.
  • Suicide exclusion is from the policy being replaced.
  • Any pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered if you are within the first 12 months of the policy being replaced.
  • If you are currently under debt review, you will not be covered.

Notifications

What happens next?

  • By entering your ID number above, your information will undergo a quick one minute online review process to determine which loan payments you currently make on a monthly basis.
  • From there, our system will present the lowest cost equivalent products to you and give you the option to switch over to these products, saving you around R250 per month, depending on the products involved.
  • Please be assured that your information is confidential and will not be shared with any 3rd party supplier.
  • While our customer service team will contact you to check that you are satisfied with your switch, they will not continue to follow up on a regular and undue basis, with sales calls thereafter.
